10 Reasons You Should Consider Retiring to the NH Seacoast
When you think retirement, do you think sunny Florida? Well, you shouldn't (at least not for the entire year). New Hampshire's beaches all 18 miles definitely have something you'll want to make your own. Read along as we tempt you with 10 reasons you should retire to the NH Seacoast. And these are in addition to the coastal real estate we have to show you.

The beaches are very clean. We're sure you've been to a beach that was not. It's not at all a pleasurable experience. For several years in a row, Hampton Beach has been named one of the safest beaches for swimming because of its clean waters. And nothing beats living in one of Rye's Beach Neighborhoods!
-
And incredibly beautiful. Don't believe us? Just look at Rye's Sawyers Beach or Hampton's Plaice Cove when it comes to hidden gems and gorgeous waves.
-
Yes, you can surf here. If you are one to pull on the wetsuit (yes, you'll need it for sure) and catch some waves (or if your kids or grandkids are surfers), you'll be happy to know there are no less than four surf shops on the coast. Slick boards and, if you stop at Summer Sessions or Cinnamon Rainbows, great breakfast sandwiches by the beach are definitely available.
-
Proximity to Portsmouth. In the last five years or so, the press has really taken a shine to us here at the Seacoast, with the lovely seaport town of Portsmouth garnering the most attention.
-
You will never have to cook again (unless you want to). Did you read our blog post about how many restaurant seats the Seacoast has? Click here.
-
The theater scene is active. From The Music Hall and Seacoast Repertory Theatre to the Ogunquit Playhouse (with the innovative Players Ring in between) the arts are at the forefront on the Seacoast.
-
Shopping. If you love giving gifts to others (or to yourself!), you'll enjoy the boutiques of downtown Portsmouth as well as the hustle and bustle of the outlet malls in Kittery, Maine. (We're partial to the Coach outlet.)
-
Your grass will always be greener. If you need someone to manicure your lawn, you do not need to hire the boy down the street. There are no less than 25 high-end landscapers ready to sculpt your hedges (or shovel your walk, if you spend winter with us).

Boston is an hour away. Moving to the beaches of New Hampshire doesn't mean losing your urban edge. Not when Beantown is just a stones throw away. (Note: Don't call it "Beantown" when you're actually there.)
-
Last, but not least, there are tax advantages to living in New Hampshire, versus other New England states. The state's motto might be "Live free or die," but here's more insight to what exactly is free (or less expensive) about the Granite State.
The NH Seacoast is definitely not Miami, or North Carolina, or California. If you buy a house on New Hampshire's scenic coast, you are guaranteed a one-in-a-million experience.
