The Ephraim Barber House began its life in 1735 in Marlborough MA where it remained until 1985 when it was carefully dismantled and transported to the historic district of Danville NH. Once there,this charming post and beam,with its wooden pegs,purlins, gunstocks and windbraces was painstakingly reassembled. Where necessary, architectural elements salvaged from other antiques were used. Any new items needed, such as the brick work for chimneys,fireplaces,windows,siding and roofing were carefully constructed to fit in with the age and style of the home. Other notable features include exposed brick,beehive oven,wide pine floors,butterfly staircase and a deacon's closet.This amazing work of love and art was placed on a new concrete foundation and outfitted with updated baths and kitchen with stainless steel appliances, modern electrical, plumbing, central air and generator hookup. Let's not forget the three stall carriage barn with electricity and the two car detached garage with a huge heated workshop above and attached shed and hen house!
